The vineyards are impossibly remote, but the 2005 season was abundant and yielded excellent fruit. In addition the exceptional weather during the harvest period allowed the grapes to develop to its optimal ripeness and structure.
Toasted oak releases the vanilla and softens the tannins needed to balance the concentrated black cherries and dark chocolate flavors.
After almost a decade this wine is drinking beautifully.
